Check these out! I stumbled upon this recipe on…drum roll please… PINTEREST! They caught my eye because a) I like Candy Cane Hershey’s Kisses and b) They said only 4 ingredients! Those are my kind of cookies.

I made these cookies to take into work and they were gone quickly. I managed to eat only 2 for myself, too! They were super easy to make, inexpensive, and delicious.


  • 1 box devil’s food cake mix (I used Duncan Hines)
  • 2 eggs (Or 2 flaxseed eggs: 2 tablespoons ground flaxseed, 5 tablespoons water — let sit for 5 minutes in a small bowl)
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil (Possibly more if using flaxseed egg)
  • 30-40 Candy Cane Hershey’s Kisses


1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. If using the flaxseed eggs, prepare them now. Also, if you’re using regular cookie sheets, spray with non-stick cooking spray or line with parchment paper. I used my Pampered Chef Large Bar Pan and did not spray or line.
3. Combine cake mix, eggs (or flaxseed eggs), and oil until smooth. Note: I added another tablespoon of oil to mine as it was mixing because it didn’t seem smooth enough — which may have been because of the flaxseed egg.
4. Roll or scoop small dough balls a little smaller than a tablespoon (if you want several small cookies) or larger and place onto cookie sheets. Note: Cookies made from cake mix will be more rounded and won’t spread like other cookies. I suggest pressing the dough balls down a little before baking.
5. Bake for 5-7 minutes if using metal cookie sheets. If using a dark pan, like the stoneware, I suggest cooking for 10 minutes.
6. Let cool for 2 minutes, or 5 if using stoneware as it will keep the cookies warm, and then gently press an unwrapped Hershey’s Kiss into each cookie. Note: I refrigerated the Kisses beforehand which I felt made sure they didn’t melt into the cookie.
